Dear Transcend Alamance Community,

We’re inviting LGBTQ youth who have attended any Transcend Alamance Youth Social to participate in a research study on mental health and support systems. The only other requirement is that they are 18 years old or younger. Conducted by James Hemmingway, a queer Elon student, with principal investigator Dr. Lauren Guilmette, this study aims to understand how family, peer, and community support impact well-being, particularly in the face of discrimination.

Participation is voluntary and anonymous. The survey is a one-time survey about LGBTQ youth experiences, and any insights will help improve resources for LGBTQ youth in our community. It will take about 20-30 minutes, and as an incentive, participants in grades 8-12 will receive a $10 gift card upon completion.

If you are under 18, you will need parental consent. The consent forms are embedded into the survey.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to James at jhemmingway@elon.edu or Dr. Guilmette at lguilmette@elon.edu.

Thank you to these community partners.
